Visa & Residence Permit

Students from EU countries do not need visa coming to Poland.

Students -  third country nationals may enter Poland if they are in possession of a visa. For this purpose, a letter of admission is needed. If the visa is not valid for the whole period of planned studies at the ULS students have to apply for the Residence Permit at the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office in Wrocław (Dolnośląski Urząd Wojewódzki). They have to apply for it 45 days before their current visa expiries. International Office at ULS helps in this process.

Insurance / Health Care in Poland

Citizens of EU countries, staying temporarily in Poland, are entitled to free health care on the basis of a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or a replacement certificate issued in her/his country. A holder of one of these documents receives free services from health care providers who have a contract with the Polish National Health Fund (NFZ) - institution responsible for assuring health care services for beneficiaries.

If students don't possess any of these documents - they're obliged to cover the costs of medical treatment themselves.
