Visa & Residence Permit
Students from EU countries do not need visa coming to Poland.
Students - third country nationals may enter Poland if they are in possession of a visa. For this purpose a letter of admission is needed. If the visa is not valid for the whole period of planned studies at the ULS they have to apply for the residence permit at the City Council in Wrocław (Urząd Wojewódzki). They have to apply for it 45 days before their current visa expiries. International Office at ULS helps in this process.
Insurance / Health Care in Poland
A person from another Member State, staying temporarily in the territory of Poland, is entitled to free health care on the basis of a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or a replacement certificate issued in his country. A holder of one of these documents receives free services at health care providers who have concluded a relevant contract with the National Health Fund (NFZ), that is the institution responsible for assuring health care services for beneficiaries.
In case of lack of these documents a patient is obliged to cover costs of a treatment by himself.
